I just came across this "tarot fact" -
After the 1680 beheading of a Prague card maker because the Pope and Popess cards were thought to be satirizing the Catholic church, these cards were renamed Jupiter and Juno, and later High Priest and High Priestess by Court de Gébelin

Have I missed something? I've never heard of this incident. If anyone can tell me more I'd be really grateful.
