Klimt without gold bits

BrightEye

I just bought a (for here) cheap copy of the LS Klimt Tarot. The box comes with gold bits but the cards don't and the deck is simply called Klimt Tarot (not the Golden Tarot of Klimt).

It looks like a misprint to me. I have read of them on here and wonder which one I've got. The date given in the LWB is 2005 (and the booklet DOES carry the title Golden Tarot of Klimt).

I must say I like this version without gold a lot. Is this the only misprinted Klimt deck I wonder?

ETA: The deck comes with an extra but unrelated card. It's entirely in Italian and says things about the star sign Cancer. It's printed on both sides, one with the astrological emblem for Cancer, the other with a small inlay of a Marseilles Chariot, + text on whatever is characteristic of the star sign.

I wonder if it is one of the decks that are licensed by LoS for Fabbri/Orbis to print off and supply with their magazines. They look like the originals except for the more basic boxes which often have different titles, and I imagine the gold would not be something those publishers could replicate.

ETA see this thread:

and this - they left off the gilding on the VS as well:

PS:

http://metaphysicalultimates.com/deck-orbis-fabbri/ shows some. So does this ebay listing - does the box look like these at all ?

Did you see this thread from a week ago?

My first thought when I saw this thread was that it might be one of the LoS /Fabbri/Orbis ones.

But I have never seen the Klimt in this series and - to my knowledge - these decks were part of a serialisation on the history of the tarot which was published 2000-2001 in a number of European countries, i.e before 2005.

Maybe it is a newer edition. I know that it's about to come out in a mini version but a goldless version is news to me.

What isnoticable is that these fabbri/orbis versions are often slimmer in width than the LoS ones, Put the cards on top of a LoS deck and see if they are exactly the same size...

I have a Visconti version that isn't gilded either...

The Klimt cards I bought are exactly the same size as a regular LS deck, as is the box. My box is gilded but has a different title.

PS: My Klimt is less sturdy (card stock and box) than let's say the Initiatory Tarot of the Golden Dawn, which I happen to have to hand. Less lamination on the Klimt too (but card stock and lamination similar to my Version of the Visconti)
