Anyone interested in an Oracle de Belline study group?

RavenDarkWind

I've recently fell in love with this deck, but I haven't found much information. Anyone want to share their interpretations of the symbols, good spreads, thing like that?

Hi

I am interested, R, in this. I just ordered a deck after searching high and low!

I see you've been posting for a while to the study group, what is your experience with and interest in the Oracle? I can't remember where I first learned about it but I've been using an app that is pretty great.

So in searching this site for comments on the Belline Oracle, I found this quote but I dn't understand it really, do you perhaps?

"Reads well.

Think of a Marseilles with a ‘tude.

Sure there are seven scepters, or wands on the Sept Sceptres. However they are not simply 6+1 as a Marseilles. They are arranged. They are arraigned different than the Sept Glaives. On each of the minors, the numerical geometry is considered. (one may want to put on the thinking caps, or do some research).

There are variances that some may want to consider. The Moon, is not the moon. It is Le Crépuscule (Sunset, Dusk, twilight).

I think it is an important example of a late nineteenth century deck."

I don't actually have a deck of my own, but I am in the beginning stages of drafting one. :)
I think the quote you found is referring to the Tarot de Belline, not the Oracle. I'm more drawn to the Golden Dawn tradition than to the Papus tradition, but the TdB looks pretty nice.

I have the tarot d'Eltynne as well - though I have not used it lately. I think daily draws and swapped readings with it might be interesting too...

Raven, I should say Thank you SO MUCH for your posts on the Belline cards- you are so kind to add them to the body of knowledge here and I read them with great interest :) I don't know how a study group works but I will mark this thread and come back if one forms :)

I've ordered the Belline from Amazon- when it arrives, I will pop back in if anyone is interested in studying/readings, etc

No, the deck mentioned is about the Oracle de Belline, not the tarot version. The guy who did a revised version of the Oracle de Belline called his version "Tarot d'Eltynne". I just want to mention that in France it's common to put the word tarot to decks that are not tarot decks at all but just oracles, just like the guy who made the deck Tarot d'Eltynne, and yet it's not a tarot deck, or related to the Tarot de Belline (again not tarot).
