Mary Packard - Tarot de Marseille

Madrigal

So this is a Madenie deck with gold borders??!!

They are the same as her last set. Recreated of the originals, really closely recreated but with enhanced lines and color.

Thanks for that, Desecrated. Will think about it.

These are scans from the book. I've just gotten a digital copy of it and have the permission to post these pictures as long as I point out that they belong to Race Point Publishing and that you can in fact BUY THE BOOK :D

I don't know if the cards will look exactly the same as they are depicted here, but I think so. It will also come in a packages similar to the golden tarot with the box/book/deck.
The book is 147 pages and contain a written explanation of each card including a foreword by Robert. M. Place and a 40 page history lesson. Everything is in color, everything looks amazing.

Was it a nice card stock?

Thick but not too thick, sturdy but not stiff. I like it.

These are rather large cards, mind you. Not as large as the ginormous US Games facsimile deck, of course --but LARGE. As much as I love this deck, I find myself using more frequently my LoS Viscontis.

I downloaded the sample image of the 'Tarot de Marseille Pierre Madenie 1709' that is available from this site.
And then added a screenshot of the pdf from the Mary packard book. (Blue picture)
And put them side by side in ms paint.

Sooo, the quality might not be the best, but I think it proves how close this edition is to the originals.

Interesting contrast, Desecrated. Thanks for that. It looks like it has a softer, gentler line.

It is interesting that this is the second Madenié deck we have had. Perhaps this means that the tyranny of the Conver is over.

The Madenié facsimilie reproduction by Yves and Wilfried is probably the most ravishing TdM available. I am completely, utterly in love with this deck to the depth and breadth and height my Marseilles soul can reach! I shall definitely get this Packard set as I'm sure it wil be beautiful but I wonder whether I can be swayed away from the expressive jaggedness and peerings of the original.

I have three copies. Because it's the best! So I'm very curious about this version
