Christian Cabbalah

Kenny

Are there any resources on Christian Cabbalah--general introductions would be preferred at the moment.

Thanks,

It struck me tonight that a perhaps unexplored Christian text that reflects very much a section of the Zohar is St. Teresa of Avila's The Interior Castle.

Not only did she come from a wealthy Spanish Jewish family, but was around following the time of the compilation of the Zohar by Moses de Leon, and, more significantly, the 'Mansions' struck me very much reflecting a path of development from the tenth to the fourth Sefirot, as more or less described in the Zohar itself

You might find the Ph.D dissertiation MYSTICAL SYMBOLISM IN TERESA OF AVILA AND CLASSICAL KABBALAH by SJ Burgeson of interest.

A great resource for texts in English are Don Karr's bibliographic surveys:

One thing about Teresa of Avila- Take your heartburn medicine first. About the 3rd time she prefaced something with "Now, I'm only a stupid women, and of course the priests know better..." I about threw it across the room. Sadly, she was doing what she had to. :-(
