RWS Tarot 101 Ten of Swords

PAMUYA

Ten of Swords

There he is lying there with 10 swords in his back. “OUCH” over kill to say the least. Is this how we reacted to our problems? Or is this how we feel about our problems; “My life is Over!”or “ No one has ever suffered so much as me!” Have you been stabbed in the back?

I see a sudden or unexpected disaster. Despite the dark sky, the sun is about to rise. This is a X (ten) card, “the final blow” the end of your hardship. As the saying goes, “It’s always darkest before the dawn”. Learn from your mistakes, draw wisdom from defeat.

Direct: Misery/loss/disaster, a loss in life that feels like death, stabbed in the back, ruin.

Reversed: Recovery, rebirth, liberating break through, karmic dept paid.

In a health reading, it could possibly signify back pain, or an acupuncture treatment.

Don't forget the swords card is about mental ability, clarity and communication, it could be indicating here that is your thoughts that pin you down, and that perhaps you need to allow them to come to an end in order to replace them with some new and fresh ideas that will help you begin again. :)

10's are endings and beginnings all in one number, therefore when you fully accept that something has ended or should end and this is what the 10 swords message is about, then the dawn symbolised in the card shows you the potential that exists to move forward.

The card also represents here for us the pain of sharp words, being stabbed in the back by somebody's comments, severe criticism, this shows how we may have responded and are feeling, the hurt that we endure if you like, but don't forget to notice that the man's hand shows the sign of the benediction, this is an association with christ and the ability to forgive, and so it also sends a message through this image that to forgive is also to heal.

Just an illustration of two of the messages contained within this card and its symbolism. :)
