Mini/Pocket Decks - Llewelyn Classic?

G6

A weird suggestion. If you trim the Llewellyn, it "becomes" a pocket size deck. Seriously. Those borders are SO humongous that you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of
1- finding a mini version of it
2- losing some of its imagery because the image would have to be shrunk. Here's a link to some trimmed cards.

I emailed the publisher and they said no mini or pocket version of the Llewellyn Classic is in the works as of yet. I assume because it is still so new? I have heard about trimming the border off of the cards. Thats an interesting idea.

I too am a deck fan that enjoys Pocket and Mini sized Tarot as long as the art still looks good in the smaller size. :(

The Hanson Roberts comes in the "Tarot to Go" kit. It is an awesome size! And the listings don't say what the real deck name is that comes in this packaging. (Hanson Roberts is often labled one of the decks people either like the art, or they don't.)
Here are pictures from the standard size.

Universal Waite Pocket Edition (illustrations are re-colored by Mary Hanson, author of the Hanson Roberts Tarot.) Also, this box is AWESOMELY STURDY with a pull off lid!!! This is a favorite.

Then there is the Pocket Rider Waite Tarot. Also a favorite!

It is a great option for the original RWS. This was one of the decks I got right after I joined AT. I went from only ~3 decks to crazed, compulsive Tarot deck buying. It is all Aeclectic's fault that I am now an addictited Tarot deck junkie. })

Tarot Nova AKA: Tarot : The Complete Kit by Dennis Fairchild
Another one of my VERY all time favorite decks. It is super portable, and for me, it gives surprising deep readings from the deceptively simple images.
(Be careful to not accidentally buy the "mini" deck with thumbnail sized cards rather than the listing with the cards the same size as the book.)

Here is a fun, comical deck that is very simplistic, and actually reads very well for me.
Gummy Bears in the tin size. Here are the regular sized pictures.
[The LWB from the Gummy Bears is one of my all time favorite for a RWS based deck. It is shocking how awesome this LWB is. This is special since most often, LWBs are mehhhh and even discarded by some.]

Never mind.
Gummy Bear in a tin seems to have gone OOP, same as the very awesome Halloween Tarot in a tin... If you happen to find either of these pocket sized decks in the tin at a good price, you might grab them because the prices are already on their way up since they are now "hard to find"... They are both favorites by many!

Tera Nova seems like an interesting possibility. Gummy Bear Tarot is so funny, but I doubt I would use it. Thanks!

Well it is Thoth based more than RWS but if it appeals to you there are still pocket size Rosetta decks available. They are about business card size, maybe a little smaller and rounded corners and come in a silk lined tin so very portable.

Im not drawn to Thoth, but the size and the presentation of this deck is awesome! I love the tin! Why don't more publishers follow suit? I use wood cigar boxes for most of my decks, but the travel decks stay in their paper boxes, so I can take them with me easier. Needless to say, they get pretty beat up.

Tins for travel/pocket sized decks!!!! Great idea!!!!

Oops! My bad! I thought you meant the Llewellyn. I failed to read the Classic after the name. The old trusty and reliable Llewellyn does have huge borders but the new llewellyn Classic seems to have NO borders at all... Sorry.

If you're into minis and like cats, this is a gem:

Oh wow, thanks! A mini of The New Vision Tarot is listed here, but it is not on the Llewellyn Worldwide website that sells the Lo Scaraebeo minis. What is the website address for this catalog?

This deck is due to be released in June 2015, it's not out yet. Once they come out you will be able to buy them on Llewellyn or Lo Scarabeo's websites (along with the regular sites like Amazon).

Thanks for the info! In the meantime, I just ordered Anna K. and mini Manga (for a really good price). I'll see what new adventures these decks provide until summer!

I received the Llewelyn Classic book set as a Christmas present! The book is thin on info. Why do all these books waste paper with so much blank space? The images are awesome, but the card stock is too thin/cheap. Bummer! Nonetheless a highly recommended beginner deck!
