New Tarot book in the works.

RavenDarkWind

I can't wait until the book is finished. The information is clear, the Yi Jing associations jive well with the tarot meanings, and I like how you matched the court cards with astrological associations. Will you publish it or leave it online?

All my work will remain online and free of charge.
I doubt it will ever be in hard copy.
I only printed my Yijing translations for people who absolutely
had to have a book, but the pdf's remained online.

I'm about to wind up the Pentacles this week, completing the draft for the pips and court.
I'll announce that here in a few days. I think I'll do the introductory material before tackling the trumps and provide some needed explanation about what I'm trying to do here.

The draft of the 14 Pentacles is posted now,
completing the draft for all 56 minor arcana
and the 18 elements that compose them.

The Introductory material will be next, by Xmas,
then another month to work on the trumps.

The introduction and introductory sections are drafted and posted now, leaving only the trumps, hopefully to be drafted by Feb 10.
The intro explains the whole approach and why the book is written for even the most skeptically inclined, with most of the new age "thinking" and fortune telling removed.

Done! Or at least the first draft. Going to take a few months away from this to get some distance and perspective, then do a polishing pass by mid-summer. Comments, corrections and constructive criticism still welcome. Some of the comments received from here so far have already been incorporated, the others are in the queue for the final pass. So pick a card, any card.

Since you asked for critique... :)

I'm surprised that in the Courts you didn't expand on their Kabbalistic roles, saying that it isn't a useful source of ideas. Why is this?

Hi-
It's not like I didn't try. And I had the effort in my working notes. I just couldn't resolve it with any clarity that didn't already come about with a lot more definition by folding the four elements in on themselves. Plus, the Olamot were only derivative contributions to occult tarot by way of their elemental attributions in the first place. Any insights that I might have had found their way into the commentary by other channels. Further, the scale of sixteen isn't really endemic or indigenous to either Kabbalah or Qabalah. It was only created in the first place to perform this one task. I don't think it had anything fundamental to offer.

I tend to think of each Court having "powers" with the astrological attributions telling us what those powers are while the "element of element" telling us how their powers are used.
I wrote a little something about this, nothing as comprehensive as what you did, of course, but basically how I see the courts.
