Just looked again at eBay.It says 1760 deck, dated from 1780 to 1820. I wonder where they got it?

This just in:

The bidding has ended at $1,080 (I *figured* that the reserve had to be $1,000!).

The deck just sold for $1,080.00 with 34 bids. It went from $600 to $1080
in less than five minuters. That makes it almost twice as valuable as the $605 Greenwood on Amazon;)

A good thing, too! - even at about *that* price, I felt like it was going for relative peanuts!

The 78th Fool

Well!
That little bidding war was as exciting as the one caused by the first edition Rider Waite with the tudor rose card backs!! I hope it goes to a good home and the buyer appreciates what a treasure they've got!

Wow. I hope the buyer comes through, and doesn't stiff the seller.

I'd love to know the actual date on that deck. Anyone else feel like playing detective?? ;)

It shows how inflated the ebay closing bids for OOP late 20th century decks are.

By the way, does anyone know the identity of the buyer of the ebay Marseilles deck?
