Cross in the House of Cross

celticnoodle

I am doing a Grand Tableau for someone. The focus is what they can expect for the month. In the house of Cross is the Cross card.

I'm wondering if anyone can see anything other then something bleak in it. This person does take care of an elderly parent who is showing signs of dementia now for the last few years. The parent is only getting worse with time.

I'm thinking that the person is facing a very difficult time - and all through the reading I pick up on this--and its issues w/the parents care.

So, what do you think? I am seeing it as a difficult cross for her to bear. I imagine she is at the end of her rope with it and is making a very difficult decision. Perhaps even a nursing home decision. Without going into the full G.T. can anyone see anything a bit more happy in the cross card in the house of cross?

Does anyone know of card combinations that would point to a nursing home for a parent?

Thank you for any ideas!

If the spread you have laid indicates issues of hardship, I cannot see how the Cross on Cross would turn the whole read in a different direction. Not knowing what other cards are in the spread, I would venture to guess from what you have said that hardship and suffering end in death. Death is a process of life.

I am a vigil specialist with a hospice group. The process of end-of-life care and dying is not an easy thing to witness or experience.

I'm thinking Tree + House could indicate a nursing home or perhaps Tree + House + Lily.

T.Y. Village Witch. As a matter of fact, the following cards are all grouped together like this:

Lily, Tree, Home, Book and Scythe. I also saw other cards that pointed to a nursing home in my opinion. But now that you mentioned those cards, it hit me. Yes, I can see this and the book shows that the woman is keeping it from her mother for now - IF - this is indeed about putting her in a home. The parent will not be very happy about it. The scythe card I take as a quick decision--something that will be happening fast and will be permanent.

I agree with Village Witch.

I also think a nursing home could be the tower plus the tree if it's a big place or some type of institution.

The cross usually has to do with burdens and struggles. The cross also can end or lessen the card on it's left (if I remember correctly). Obviously, the context of the cross depends on the cards around it (I also use it's knighting cards). It can mean an end of the situation as it is - i.e. the querent decides to change the situation somehow (and the cross can mean guilt) OR changes the way they feel about or see the situation. It can be a reinvention, spiritual evolution, the end of one chapter to begin another, change of state or way of being, karma, test of faith, end of a phase, etc.

Hope this helps.

FYI - I did not see the most recent post when writing this.

Cross emphasizes the negative.
Nevertheless I found with regard to this card "possible opening beyond sorrow". If a transformation is possible it could be somber.
From a christian perspective the cross could have some meanings, in relation to sacrifice.
In a grand tableau it depends if the Cross card is near or far from the client.
I looked in my book, I am just a student concerning Lenormand.

My psychic vibe picked up that there may be an issue concerning money. Book in this line of cards speaks to me of an accounting of available funds. The Scythe could indicate a move to a nursing home is not possible at this time.

I might be reaching with no other cards to back up the Book, but I always listen to my psychic vibes. :)

yes, see, I was looking at that and a few other cards in another part of the G.T. and it just spoke of nursing home to me also. Plus, I know this person hasn't any other help taking care of the parent. Its not an easy thing to do--though overall the parents health is okay. Shes just very dependent and life sucking and irritable!

ah yes! I remember reading that somewhere--about lessening the impact of the card on its left--which in this case was the scythe. T.Y. but, still looking harsh. :)

Yes, I realize that the querent has the ability to change things--as long as she is prepared for "what COULD be"--but I want to make sure I tell her exactly what "could be" as is shown in the reading. I do make sure I always tell EVERYONE I read for that the future is not carved in stone and they always have the ability to change it. free will and all that....

Thank you! appreciate your input!

hmmmm...I like that "possible opening beyond sorrow". T.Y.!

And, as there are 2 women here--the querent & her mom--I used the woman card for the querent and the snake as her mom.

The woman card was in the first house and the snake card was in the house of Fox. So, what do you think with this now? Thanks for your input!

Well, yes, money is always an issue, is it not? Nursing homes are expensive. The daughter who takes care of the parent is not rich - not even close! Plus, she and her siblings are all approraching retirement age as well.

The home of her parent is in a good neighborhood, but who knows if it will sell quickly and for the asking price? I'm not too sure of the condition of the house presently--but I do know it isn't too bad--save probably in need of new wall to wall carpeting and some upgrading with the appliances. Other then that the only other bad side to this house is no garage for the car(s) which most people buying in todays world, (where she is located), want that. But, this home was built before garages were a big deal and this woman & her husband didn't care about a garage--just parking for 2 cars--which they had/have. So, money will be an issue for sure. yes. even to upgrade the needed things in that house. Not sure when it was last roofed either. another huge expense....

Yeah, I try to listen to my psychic vibes too when doing a reading. I'm just not 100% sure if I'm guessing or right. time will tell...
