*French* books on Tarot de Marseille/Livre français

AmomentOfMusic

So I know the question is usually the other way around... what are the best English resources for learning more about the Tarot de Marseille. But seeing as I know that this style of reading is generally more popular in France then in English speaking countries, I was wondering if there are any stand out *french* resources that I should take a look at. I'm a fluently bilingual Canadian, so I'm hoping that I can access the best of both words:)

As with English, there are many mediocre books, a few decent ones, and only a handful of very good books. It also depends on what particular 'take' you happen to prefer.

From the sparse details in your message, I take it you are interested in styles of reading. In this area, there are quite a few good all-round works, some of the more popular being those books by Colette Silvestre, Corinne Morel, Carole Sédillot, Claude de Milleville, Hadès, Marcel Picard, among many others. Jodorowsky you have probably already heard of, but his approach elicits quite mixed reactions.

Probably most people reading about Tarot in France will have encountered this booklet by Tchalai, https://www.scribd.com/document/261655753/Tchalai-Le-Tarot

She wrote a larger book later on, but it is usually quite difficult and expensive to find, as well as being a mixed bag, but with oddly enlightening moments.

The late Alain Bocher's Guide and booklet have also been uploaded by his publisher, you could have a look at those too. https://www.scribd.com/document/337298943/Tarot-Memoire

If you are looking to have a solid divinatory practice, Kris Hadar's works are generally considered to be quite pedagogical and efficient. As far as I know, they are published in Canada (where he lives), so you might find them easier to obtain than having to order books all the way from France. He also has a website too.

There are also a great many resources and e-books available online, so if you happen to have a specific query, then we will attempt to provide a proper response.

If you are interested specifically in the Tarot de Viéville, there is the excellent two-volume study, Les mystères du tarot de Viéville, by Patrick Coq.

Bonjour,

You may look at Wilfried Houdouin book (in French and Portugese versions, English not yet).

If you are interested specifically in the Tarot de Viéville, there is the excellent two-volume study, Les mystères du tarot de Viéville, by Patrick Coq.

Just a shame he didn't have recourse to a professional editor and proof-reader!

Patrick Coq also has several youtube videos - on reading tarot in general and some on the Vieville in particular:
