It does depend on the reading but there is a Death card in a tarot deck for a reason and sometimes it does mean Death in the most brutal and honest way.

I've seen Death come up as Death a couple of times - there is no mistaking the meaning.

But I still like the gentleness of the Sweet Twilight Death card.

I just got this deck and I love it. It seemed to me to be showing Death carrying her away so she wouldn't suffer by slowly and terribly thirsting to death in the desert. Or Death finally mercifully taking her away after she did have to go through severe suffering. When that thought came to me, this became probably my favorite Death card of all the ones I've seen.
