Looking for a specific tarot deck for use in a movie I'm making

HangedDude

Hey guys, thanks for letting me join so I can utilize your knowledge about tarot. I'm currently making a student film (as I am a film student) based on the short story The Hanged Man by Ian Rankin, in which a killer is sent to kill a psychic who turns out to be his mother at the end. It's a really cool story that you can probably find somewhere online through some fancy googling, I recommend you read it.

In the story, the tarot deck that is used has French words on it that are relevant to certain lines of dialogue, so I'm looking to buy a similar deck. So do you guys know of a particular deck that I could buy, say on Amazon, which has the cards Death (La Mort), The Sun (Le Soleil), and The Hanged Man written in nice, legible French? It's not entirely necessary to my film but it would improve it to some degree. Thanks for your help!

Any of the Marseilles-style decks will have it. The one named above is a fairly ... er ... bright and modern-looking Marseilles deck. Here are a few other suggestions to go with it:-

Of all the Marseilles decks that are available, these are the ones that have clear titles in French only. Look at them all, decide which ones will suit your purpose best. Click on the eye-con to get more images from that deck. (The ones that look brown-backed are actually gold-backed).

Many (most?) Marseille decks do not have 'La Mort' on the Death card. It is left untitled. The deck which is probably most familiar to the general public is the Rider-Waite. There is a French version with French titles. I got mine on eBay, I think.

LRichard is right. The Marseille tradition is that Trump XIII is untitled. The exception is the Noblet, which is available in the Flornoy version these days. However you may be better off with Chronata's suggestion of the 1JJ Swiss in French. In the Noblet, on a couple of your cards the article runs into the noun: what the audience will see is LAMORT and LESOLIEL. With the 1JJ it's La Mort and Le Soliel. Also, the Noblet has smaller cards and is more expensive. The Noblet is clearly an older style of artwork and lettering, though, if that's important for the film.

Hey, thanks everybody for the great advice. I still haven't decided which deck I'm going to use but I'm very appreciative that y'all took some time out of your days to lend me some of your knowledge. I promise I'll post a link to the film when it's finished around Christmas.
