Incense

I just Love, Chandan and Nag Champa.. they are two of the cheaper ones i burn , in which i Just Love the atmosphere and scent they create.

The special ones i burn for my meditations and medicinal reasons, and are lot more expensive.about $7 per box... ....they are hand rolled blend of herbs by the Lamas of Tibet..
"Pancha Buddha Tibetan Incense"..
they have all sorts of healing incense, meditation, and Ritual incenses.. Some of the Incense I use is also medicinal, which can be crushed and made into a paste for skin and muscle ailments, great for ichy skin from allergies, And the Healing Incense is Brilliant for slowing you down and destressing, it actually works..that one is also great if you feel a headache coming on..... For Me Pancha Buddha Incense is one of the best pure herbal Incense i have found..

I have no idea where online you would by it.. maybe a google is in order if you are interested..

because this incense is not on sticks.. it is hard to find somewhere to burn them..
I Found a gorgeous bowl from a second hand shop for a $1 ..and filled it up with the kids sandpit sand.. and placed this bowl onto a lovely hand made clay plate, I made many years ago, and it catches all the ashes.. You dont need to buy anything Special.. Just rumage through the cupboards and start creating. :D

We have a new shop in town and I tried a 10 stick sampler of traditional Japanese incense from Shoyeido. It is the first time I've found the all incense as opposed to rolled on a stick and it lasts nicely. Problem with this brand is I can't distinguish one scent from another... Won't be trying it again, it was quite expensive.

Next time I need some I'll try some of the on-line recommendations. Thanks everyone.

I bought two incense holders, both pieces of carp in my humble opinion :) So I'm using a vintage candy dish with clean sand in it. When the sand gets full of stick ends I fling it and add fresh sand. The one downstairs is a mini-african violet pot with sand.

My favorite is Patchouli and only by this particular brand...(Auric). I also like some Lavendar oils...(gotta be very earthy and PURE). I have a lavendar oil I get each year from our local Renn Faire, and I love it!

I'm reaaalllly allergic and sensitive to a lot of fragrance (especially that of perfumes!). So it's a miracle that I can take the above incenses without getting sick.

I don't know where I got that idea, but I do the exact same thing. It holds the ashes very well, cuts way down on the dust factor, and it's easy to clean up. I have about 4 of these around my house, in assorted vessels. A short vase, a little cast iron cauldron, a little lidded jar that lost the lid, and a flowerpot that my son decorated for me.

Also, I like the bottle kind. My husband bought a glass bit, for his drill, so he can drill interesting bottles for me. I have half a dozen of those around, too. It's a great way to keep sentimental and pretty bottles.

Morning Star is nice. I've only used Lotus, and Lavender. They've got nice fragrances that lasts awhile. I also love, Auric Blends :

Can you show us what you mean??

I actually read the back of a packet of Temple incense this morning and did you know there are instructions for burning incense??? Doh...
After you get the fire lit on stick incense you are supposed to blow out the flame. Hokey Smokes, that stick is still going and it has been over an hour. I think it usually takes about 10 minutes.

Slaps forehead.
