A source of inspiration

nettletea

Good morning everyone. I've been spending time over at the art-albums.com website. This site is dedicated to preraphaelite and symbolist paintings of the nineteenth century. While the skill of some of the painters is daunting, I've found the paintings very useful in showing examples of composition, lighting, atmospheric effects, depiction of water, interior details, costume, and the way people were painted, revelatory. I'm working on my own deck now and have been saturating my imagination with this stuff. I don't intend to copy a style but let it inspire me instead.
