"common" stones

New River

our coffee table is one of these fractured slabs off glacial rock--it was found by a farmer as is as flat as a board tho it is solid granite. beautiful. we wrangled it out of him for only $15. and it sets on top of a trunk with no wiggling whatsoever.

i love the energy it brings into our home. and talk about low maintainence. just a damp sponge and it's quartz bits sparkle like stars.

my friends tease me about my fred flintstone furniture. another table is topped with an antique grinding stone.

i told you they were everywhere! :D

love and blessings,
New River

I am looking at it now. It does not have entries for either slate or limestone, but it does have granite, sandstone, flint, marble, pumice, mica and fossil. These are, to me at least, "common" rocks. Some are widely found in urban landscape stone mixes, too.

I'm pretty sure I have information from a different book on slate, and possibly limestone. I'll see what I can find.
