Cards that indicate a Doctor or Medical Treatment

Nikita_

This is NOT a thread about health issues, or diagnosing illnesses with the cards. It's about identifying the figure of a doctor, or the fact that someone might already be under medical treatment of some kind-without necessarily being too specific as to what kind of treatment.
OK, so the traditional cards for doctors and medical treatment as far as I know are the swords.
For a Doctor, the King of Swords (though that seems to be a surgeon, in particular), and I think maybe the Hierophant.
The ace and 3 of swords are about surgery, the 4 about illness but not necessarily one that is being treated.
As for medical treatment, Temperance occurs to me, although I'm not a hundred per cent sure. The Star is about healing; not sure if it stands for treatment of an illness as well.
I could throw in the Magician as a doctor, but I have to say that would be just guessing.
I'm sure there are others.
Any ideas ?

For medical or health issues, I relate swords to surgery, and cups with medicines or drugs.
Judgement has shown to me for hospitalizations, surgery and the end of a treatment with good results. Also as physical death.
Hierophant and Magician have appeared as doctors. And I can see both Star and Temperance as a medical treatment.

Thanks for confirming the Magician and Temperance in particular, I wasnt sure about those..I had got to them through a mixture of logic and intuition hard to pin down..
Interesting about cups-it makes sense, since medicines are drugs...I guess we're talking combos here, it would be interesting to see which ones, with cups.

I can see the king of cups as a doctor, for me he is a healer.
And once I had the 8 of pentacles as someone working on your health to make you better

King of cups for me. Water deals with healing professions. I've also seen King of Swords for military doctor or surgeon (deals with cutting objects).

Not sure if these help but a few ideas:

Five of Pentacles - being physically unwell
Three of Swords - for heart surgery or some kind of incision
King of Swords - would be my go to doctor in the deck
Queen or Page of Cups - a nurse
Magician - a specialist
Temperance - another doctor type / healer

Great posts. I usually see Pentacles as pills. so, for instance, the 8 of Pentacles is someone undergoing treatment that has to take pills on a regular basis. One for the hear, one for diabetes, etc.

I don't have fixed combos or meanings, all depends on the reading. But if I am asking about health and I get cups, I would tend to think there are blood pressure problems, liquid retention or some issue related to addictions. As a treatment I relate them to medication. Pentacles would be more related to muscles, bones, diets and physical therapy.

Here are some more notes I've on my notebook. These connections are based mostly on RWS images:

8S- Mental health issues, and their treatment requiring hospitalization.
9S – Insomnia, migraines.
10S – Spine and back problems. Acupuncture.
4P - Constipation, digestive and urinary problems.
5P - Mobility problems, muscular and leg problems. Malnutrition.
8P - Physiotherapist
7C - Drugs, hallucinations.
QC – Menstruation, hormonal imbalances.
Empress - Gynecological issues.
Death - Bones.
Tower - Erectile dysfunctions.

In fact, any card can be related to one problem or another. Here's to the Cups:

Ace of cups - Water retention, urinary problems
Two of Cups - Problems with binary organs
Three of Cups - Holistic medicine
Five of Cups - Depression
Six of Cups - All tyically kids' diseases (chicken pox, tummy ache...) or congenital diseases
Seven of Cups - Mind diseases. Memory loss, alzheimer, squizofrenia
Eight of Cups - Death after all attempts of cure fail
Nine of Cups - Alcohol related diseases, gout
Ten of Cups - Contagious diseases.

Exactly! Some good associations here.
