Animals Divine - Eight of Pentacles – Mouse

Image of the card

Symbols*: The leaves of autumn begin to cover the landscape with their colourful presence. The mice are preparing for the hibernating months that lie ahead. They gather the falling nuts for hording in a nest within the perimeter of the tree. The tree is old and has survived many long winters. The growing ivy and etched pentacles on the tree bark emphasize the connective nature of the tree with the earth. Its many roots secure its position in the forest and reach into the underworld terrain of the unconscious. The mice are symbolic of the need to pay attention to detail. They are consummate planners and are keen to prepare for the long winter months ahead.

Description*: It is necessary to reassess your situation from time to time. Try to pay closer attention to the neglected aspects of your life. Take the opportunity to get organized and develop a method for streamlining. Pore over the little things and try to integrate facets of your life that may have been relegated to the back burner. Getting organized provides a wonderful ritual for purging the brain of accumulated detritus. You can alleviate residual stress by engaging in the physical task of getting organized and preparing for new projects that may be awaiting you.

Keywords: Organization, Attention to detail, Order

Possible Meaning: Are you becoming complacent and lose track of your goals? Are you setting your sights ahead for the future? Pay attention to detail. Make sure that your living space and/or working space, is organized and in order. This will give you some needed clarity.

Thoughts/Points to Ponder: The mice are reminders not get to nit-picky and focus too much on details. Mouse can teach lessons of stealth and invisibility for sometimes great strength lies within quietness. Time to be aware of new discoveries and possibilities. Listen to your introspection and intuition.

Mouse – Scrutiny, Detail
Mouse is a great totem when you are feeling overwhelmed and disorganized for Mouse's gift is scrutiny and detail. However, this can also be a great weakness, for people with a Mouse totem can become fixated on methodology and appear to be nit-pickers. They will make the simplest task fraught with difficulty. Everything must be in order in a Mouse's house. Therefore, you must learn that it is good to pay attention to all details, but bad to over-analyze every little thing. If Mouse appears to you, ask yourself if you have neglected the trivial but necessary things in life. Have you become too focused on one or two activities and neglecting opportunities around you? Or are you trying to do too many things at the same time? Mouse medicine can show how to focus and how to attain the big things by working on the little things.
