Herbal Tarot - Page of Wands - Shepherd's Purse

You can see the Page cards here.

Description: A cloaked figure is clutching a staff and watching the sun rise over the mountains. There is a large plant of shepherd’s purse behind the figure.

Significant Details: The staff symbolizes strength of will. The sun symbolizes new beginnings and joy. The mountains are the gateways to the spirit realm.

Keywords: Creative, Enthusiastic, Courageous, Confident

Medicinal Uses: Shepherd’s Purse is used to stop internal and external bleeding, it is used for wounds, nosebleeds, diarrhea, stomach ulcers, varicose veins, and excessive menstrual periods. “During World War I the Germans used an extract of Shepherd’s Purse for staunching wounds.” American Nature Guides Herbs by Anna Kruger.

My Interpretation: This is a creative time. Be courageous and confident when starting new projects. This is a time to enjoy life to its fullest.

Thoughts/Points to Ponder: The Page of Wands is the Earthy part of Fire. Shepherd’s Purse is ruled by Saturn. On the Tree of Life each page is in Malkuth which is ruled by the four elements.

This page looks as if he is just starting out on a journey. Where will he go? What will he do?
