hoomer, thanks so much for those links! Greatly appreciated! I was reading another thread, and was silently wishing I understood what it all meant :) There seems to be such deep wisdom in all of it... "Honey From The Rock" sounds like a perfect place to start. Thanks again.

I am not an expert, but I like its way of thinking. You have to take your time with it, it really isn't something you memorize just to get it over with.

The depth of it is what I think appeals to me. I also feel like although it is different than tarot, some of the wisdom it seems to impart may be quite useful in general (especially if using the tarot as a tool for self-discovery and guidance). I don't mind putting in the effort to learn or do something if I feel it will make me a better person in the long run. I'm going to get the book hoomer suggested. It sounds very interesting. Thanks for all your feedback on this Closrapexa. I've appreciated your insight very much.

Anytime :)

I'll just add that the concept of "studying the Kabbalah" is similar to "studying the Torah" which is what religious Jews do for their entire lives. They don't memorize, they don't learn in the normal fashion, but read it, read associated texts and explanations and really, they just read and ponder. That what Kabbalah is, too. I don't know if I'll do this my whole life, but that's the spirit in which it must be studied (after you go through the basics, of course. we're modern people and we want to use it in Tarot, after all :) )
