Pixie's Dress

Amanda

Like a maroon or a deep, rich, red/purple color.

Cerulean

If we knew the date and her age, it would be a wonderful and fun

research question.

I wonder if Roppo or Teheuti would know dating.

Can color be surmised from black and white antique photos?

Amanda

I just took a gut feeling guess.

I agree, it's almost like I've seen this pic in color before.

I don't think colour can be surmised, but tone is an indication of sorts, and her dress seems to be a midtone rather than very light or very dark. It looks like silk, or at least a more-than-slightly light-reflective material, so the lights would appear lighter.

Mellaenn

I'm seeing mauve; that's just a guess...

Teheuti

Red tends to become black (the darker it is), while blues tend to disappear into white (the lighter they are), as, of course, do yellows. But it could be any of these (except yellow) - depending on the shade of the color: a darker blue or green, or a lighter red or mauve. I vote for a rich green.

Hathor

I'm with Teheuti - I'm seeing a rich dark green.

Ah green - it's funny, as I was 'seeing' a reddish purple too.

Mary, I hope you don't mind that I linked to your picture - it was the largest one I could find.

I'll edit my original post to include a direct link to your blog.
