Help identify this stone: Carnelian?

Tanga

"is this stone Carnelian?"

Kristyjnh's last answer is the most holistic - there you have it Marirowana. :)
(One of my Carnelian pieces is actually green with a tiny bit of orange in it - I remember being confused about what it was when I first purchased it. Green agate or Carnelian? Well it's both).

Agate has vast possibilities of form, and ofcourse other stones may be named very differently and have different metaphysical properties all for that added "little inclusion" or element which can transform presentation.
Sodalite for instance - becomes Lapis Lazuli when it has those gold bits in it.
And take a look at all the wonderful variations of Obsidian like Apache's tear, and mahogany obsidian.

Happy Crystaling!
