1 deck; 1 warning!

Krakken

Hej guys.

Am one of those tarot readers who thinks that every deck has his own personality and demands, and after reading a thread post by INIVEA, i had an idea.

I would like you to give an "warning" about an especific tarot deck for those who thinks to go for it. It would be very usefull for me and for those who would like to have an adventure studying a new deck.

humor is welcome here, cause i would like you to express the personality of one special deck and get us prepare for what we could find in it.

I start;

Since i´ve been studying dark grimoire tarot for the past 4 years, let me tell you somthing..

If you dont feel confort with what you see in the mirror everyday, this deck is not for you. This deck will expose everything you dont like about yourself in order to give a proper reading.

looking forward to hear about your experience. :)

Tarot Decks that have a "Warning" Lable

Hey Krakken,

Glad I inspired you to start this thread.

My "Wish", has been granted :D

Tarot Decks that have a "Warning Lable" attached to them. Read very carefully, even between the lines and the Fine print, before purchasing any of these decks, that get listed here in this thread.

I was a little bit unnerved by the New Orleans Voodoo Tarot. I started out with the best of intentions with my study and use of this deck and I did like it. I do still like the deck but I doubt that I will ever use it.

I'm pretty level headed and quite skeptical, and I have never been surprised by a deck before but this deck surprised the life out of me and left me with the headache to prove it.

So I think the NOVT should have a warning sticker attached. :)

You should probably add a disclaimer that those are subjective experiences, because I really don't think everyone will perceive any given deck the same way.

In my experience, the Fantastical Creatures tarot can be super duper snarky and mischievous. I'm not sure if it's just me or the deck itself, but it definitely has attitude! Thankfully, once you get used to it, you can work out what it's messing with and correct it. I've actually really started to enjoy my deck's personality; it's not negative, per se, just feisty~

The Baroque Bohemian Cats, warning!

This is a deck that plays you for a sucker.

At first glance: Dignified-looking cats in magnificent baroque attires, swanning around Versailles-like settings. Absurdly beautiful, but more than a bit absurd. You won't take it seriously. Nobody does, at first....

Until... You read with it.

It's... not cute, not snarky, not whimsical, not temperamental, not.... anything you'd expect from it. It's a straight talker. It tells stuff like it is. If there's something you don't want to know, don't ask these cards because they'll tell you. I have never seen anything like it. Those meringue-like dresses and those feline countenances? They talk.

I repeat: If there's something you don't want to know, don't ask these cards. Just. Don't.

P.S. I LOVE this thread! :D

The night sun deck I have is remarkably sassy. It holds nothing back and has a quirky sense if humor. It likes to gender-bend with the traditional energies of a card. If it gets annoyed with you, you'll know it.

The zombie tarot is such a chatty Cathy. It will answer your question...and many others you may not have wanted answered!

The deviant moon is definitely a quirky deck. Catch it on a good day and it is lovely. Catch it on a bad day and prepare to be doomed and gloomed.

Thoth

While I don't always agree decks have personalities....

My Thoth has always seemed to me to be VERY DRAMATIC when I read with it.

So I take every reading from it and dial it back some. It's not like I don't take my readings from it seriously, because I do.

More as if - when it tells me the sky is going to fall tomorrow, I am more inclined to think there may be a brief unpleasant situation. Or I may drop something, and break it. :p
That's how it reads for me, anyway.
