Similar decks to the Playing Card Oracle?

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for decks that are similar to the Playing Card Oracle by Ana Cortez? I mean oracles that are based around the playing card system but with more imagery, if that makes sense. Thanks

I know exactly what you mean

If I find one I'll post here. In the meantime, I have recently got a playing card deck with Hanafuda images on them. There's a thread here about it.

I forgot about transformation cards! They arn't a divination system, but can used as such.

Have you seen this deck:
Key to the Kingdom. Transformation playing cards by Tony Meeuwissen.

I honestly don't know any other system of playing card reading that has an *illustrated* deck of its own. But there are many illustrated playing card decks out there, and systems that can be used with them.

Jane Lyle's Fortune Teller's Deck has deck made specially for its book. Although it's not really illustrated, it's a GORGEOUS deck, definitely worth having. And the deck was made according to Lyle's method of reading, which includes images of the seasons in the Aces, court cards designed in a certain way and the possibility of knowing when a card is reversed.

One deck that I like is the "The Language of Flowers Playing Cards". Each card shows a flower and has a its meaning in the language of the flowers, and it could certainly be used for divination.

I hope I have helped!

Hi Marina,

I have the Language of Flowers deck. It's really nice. If a person is able to connect with flower/herb meanings it's ideal. But for myself ('cos I'm not brilliant with flowers), The Key to the Kingdom cards seem more suited to divinatory meanings.

I'd LOVE to have The Fortune Tellers deck, but it's scarce. And probably expensive if out of print.

I totally agree Bee! One needs to feel a good connection with flowers to use the Language of Flowers deck!

I LIKE the look of this Key to the Kingdom deck! How come I never heard of it before??? How does it read, in your opinion?

Another deck that crossed my mind is The Deck of Shadows. I traded mine away because I can't connect well to B&W decks, but some people really love it!

I just bought this in the trading forum here for $7 and am thrilled with it. It was on my wish list for such a long time and the images don't do the cards any justice whatsoever! Gorgeous! The entire package with the box and book is top notch. Love the backs too.

Another illustrated divination playing card deck that looks beautiful and is also done by some of the artists who did the Artists' Inner Vision Tarot:

I haven't come across any regular playing card decks that are similar to PCO, but I recently found these adorable illustrated playing cards from Inky-Dinky. You can also see them here http://www.wopc.co.uk/usa/inky-dinky/index.html.

Oooer..... Inky-dinky: The Bag of Bones cards are a bit gruesome!

The Key to the Kingdom, reading-wise:
If you ignore the rank and (frequently) the suit, the images plus the Rhyme (if you want to use it to get ideas flowing), can be used. I've found it quite good . But as the cards were clumpy in the deck I bought, I spent most of my time trying to make them smoothly shufflable - fanning powder etc.

This thread has caused me to get them out again, and I'm pleased to say that they are much improved - maybe being packed away while coated in fanning powder has helped. I did a quick 3 card spread = got a clear message, the meanings flowed nicely.

Colours of thr Four Seasons:
This took my eye! But on closer examination I think it might be a bit too busy for me. But I love that it's out there
