Forty Days and Forty Nights, the Bible said. Flood? Forty days? That barely dampens the ground. Now, Australia might be a dry continent, but when it rains it *really* rains! The Ace Cups is one of the two quintessential Australian cards, along with the Dehydrated Devil. He is the sunburnt country, she is the flooding rains. Notice the upper tips of the huge rainforest trees just breaking through the surface of the water? These trees grow to between seventy and a hundred metres tall, and here they barely gasp for air. Someone turn off the floods!

Divinatory meanings: Upright: dripping tap. Running tap. Burst mains pipe. Reversed: The plumber is busy until next Tuesday. Buy some extra paper towelling, and dig a hole in the backyard for all your sewerage needs. Bless the water, so that if the neighbourhood kids play in it, they will unwittingly baptise themselves and join the forces of your chosen religion.
Bless you ;

We are in the midst of an intergalatic unveiling of intuition that will give us access to the quantum cycle itself. We are at a crossroads of balance and dogma. Throughout history, humans have been interacting with the totality via supercharged electrons.

9 of Discs

http://www.learntarot.com/bigjpgs/pents09.jpg

An hermaphrodite Dr Moreau is tending his weird and badly drawn garden of chaos. In this instance he has managed to cross a bird with a small pumpkin or turnip. This card displays the doctrine of transmitigation ... the incorporation of plant life into animal life; as Steiner said : " Chaste and pure without desire, without passion, man's generative organ will be; and as the calyx of the blossom turns upward to the holy love lance... " ( Theosophy of the Rosicrucian - The Nature of Initiation. )

The star fruit on the vines are nearly ripe and ready for picking. The whole inner esoteric nature of this card is revealed and hidden by the snail near his right foot (betchya never noticed that before).

Meaning; if you love something set it free. If you want to retain something, feed it bull shit and keep it hoodwinked. Reversed: Just accept things as they are.

Divinatory meanings: Upright: You are a Fool. Remember that, when you reach the crossroads of balance and dogma, and be sure to obey the traffic lights. Reversed: Remember, you are a Fool. Watch out for that - <<<<<CRASH>>>>> step.

The Knight Swords

http://www.learntarot.com/bigjpgs/swords12.jpg

A Ceremonial Magician raises his Athame in triumph as a mighty wind blows out of ... er, just blows. Notice him leaning forward to facilitate the mighty wind. His terrified charger rolls its eyes back towards him in its head, trying to warn him that any moment now they are going to crash into the border of the card. His pointy shoes, so useful for surreptitiously kicking the knees of his foes, make you wonder why he has such girly little feet. I suppose he doesn't need big feet if he's never going to dismount.

Divinatory meanings Upright: all things are possible to the guy with the biggest weapon.

Reversed: For heavens sakes, get your big heavy self off your horse, rub him down, and give him some oats and water. You treat him like an animal. Oh, and next time, put your outerwear on the outside, dork.

The Ace of Pentacles

It was another beautiful day in the garden, with nothing much happening. Suddenly, and apropos to absolutely Nothing (note - NOT a reference to the Fool), a hand emerged from the sky and held out a huge golden disk bearing the imprint of a five-pointed star. Many viewed this as the Hand of God extending blessings, although not all; more than a few thought that perhaps it was a publicity stunt for a sale on Fiestaware at Macy's.

Divinatory meaning: New beginnings for yellow disk collectors. Ask and ye shall receive at least a handful. Yellow is the new black. Reversed meaning: Be careful what you ask for. A penny saved is nothing but a penny. Yes, you are the only one who saw that giant hand in the sky.

Ace of Cups redux

Can we do new versions of cards already done? (Too late, I already did!)

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-103yRNyJZi...ce+of+Cups.jpg

Ace of Cups

An albino with circulation problems is wearing a fluffy wool cuff, though the day is balmy. He/she holds out a goblet over a miniature pond with bonsai lily-pads. Above, an albino chickadee trained to steal antique English coins puts another silver penny in the goblet's bowl. The delicate crook-topped swizzle sticks made of ice that our albino is testing out for a party later have begun to melt in the warm air.

Meaning: Being cold in the midst of warmth; losing structural integrity. Collecting rare treasures through dishonest means, often through use of an innocent agent. Obsession with delicacy and tiny, precious things. Possibly being over-fond of whiteness (not necessarily in a racial sense, but keep an eye out for swastikas on your querant, just in case). Reversed: Warming up. Losing ill-gotten goods. Lily pads on the ceiling. Keeping a lid on kleptomania. A very strange light fixture in your future.
