If you're not familiar with the Sibillas, click on a suit.
Then click on a card title to bring up something like this:

Here you see a La Vera Sibilla card and a Sibilla Della Zingara version. Then you see a german Biedermeier image inset into a composite deck, and a more contemporary watercolor Sibilla.
:)

I like the Sibillas. 52 cards, playing card insets, easy to read.

Thinking of getting into Kipperkarten next. :)

the only sibilla I can find for sale in the UK is the sibilla oracle:

I wonder if any others are available?

btw, what are kipperkarten? german?
Yes.

Click on a card for a surprise draw. :D
There's a new, redrawn version, but I like the old style.

As far as Sibillas go, the moniker can apply to a lot of oracle decks, but the ones that follow the 52-card Italian Sibilla structure are the La Vera Sibilla, The Sibilla Originale del 1890, and the Sibilla Della Zingara. There are also some modern redrawings. I believe Scapini (the Medieval Scapini Tarot guy) did two: the Sibilla 800 and the Magica Sibilla. Magica's a riot. There's a modern watercolor Sibilla available as well, that one reminds me of greeting cards - I see a kind of mediocre blahness, but some people seem to love it.

My own favorites are the La Vera

and the Sibilla Della Zingara.

edited to add: eep, playingcardsales have a whole bunch of them, mostly cheap (starting at £3!!!)

Better grab that Sibilla Originale del 1890. Looks like it's the last one, and a limited edition at that!
But if you miss out, La Vera Sibilla is almost identical.

Aha! I knew my B in GCSE German wouldn't go to waste.

Oooh lovely! you make me wish I wasn't a poor part-time-working student! But unfortunately, its a bit out of my pricerange, especially as I want to buy a bunch of these little decks together...

You've been so helpful, thank you!

Things like this help:

:D

And there's always someone on big boards like this one who is fluent in whatever you're trying to translate.

Plus, the pictures are mostly self-explanatory: "Work", "Good Luck", all that universal stuff. ;)

You're welcome! I'm guessing not many people have a lot of extra cash to throw around nowadays. I've been getting a deck here, a deck there, for awhile now. They do accumulate after while....:D

Aah, I was hoping that'd be the case. Also German reads like English with an accent...the words look so similar (not like french...never could understand that language although it sounds so beautiful). I actually have a whole bunch of relatives living in Germany..although I've never met them. Well, if I ever do I coud amaze them with a Kipperkarten reading!

I love the Leidingkarten version of Kipperkarten. There are some pics here. Pastel, soothing, slightly updated, but don't lose the 'old world' feel.

And there's a Mystical Kipperkarten out, now, too.

For sibillas, I think my fave is the Sibilla '800. Definitely have got to get the buying spree under control, but I've done pretty well on that the past few months.

And I can't give up my Lenormands. Would love a Piatnik and an Isabels Traum, but I reckon I can make do with the nine I've already got :)

I knew I'd already done this somewhere, but for those having trouble reading the names on Kipper/Leidingkarten, here's a reasonable translation:

1) Man, male significator
2) Woman, female significator
3) Relationships and connections (usually romantic)
4) Meetings, get-togethers (business and social)
5) Older Man (usually positive)
6) Older Woman (usually positive)
7) Contacts, letters, news (usually positive)
8) Falsity, wrongness, a deceptive person (negative)
9) Local move or change (usually positive)
10) Journey (usually positive)
11) Lots of money
12) Younger Woman
13) Company, bank, security (usually positive)
14) Minor Illness (weakness, can be about other things than physical, too)
15) Love and friendship (positive)
16) Planning, making plans
17) Joy, recognition, praise (this is also a luck card and helps mitigate negative cards)
18) Something New (Baby) (usually positive)
19) Endings and New Beginnings (in Kipperkarten - Funeral, in Leidingkarten - Coffin)
20) Home, house, stability (positive)
21) Your Own Aparment or Room (positive - your private space)
22) The Officer (can be military or any man in an official position)
23) Decisions to be Taken (neutral)
24) Loss, Theft (negative)
25) Occupation, School, Older People, Success (positive)
26) Great Luck (positive)
27) Finances, Contracts (positive)
28) Be Patient for 3 Months (don't act, let things sort themselves)
29) Fear, Loneliness, Isolation (in Kipperkarten - Prison, in Leidingkarten - Hospital)
30) Quarrel, Stress, Nerves
31) Serious Illness (weakness, can be about other things than physical, too)
32) Brooding, Worries
33) Serious Worries, Deception
34) Work, Hobbies, Activity
35) 2 Years' Patience (usually not literally - it can be a great distance that needs to be overcome to achieve something, or a long time)
36) Dreams, Fantasies, and Fortunes
