Graduation spread?

Gwynne

It's that time of year for kids to graduate from high school and college and I was thinking of offering a special reading for graduates. Something like "Bring your diploma and get a free reading..." or offer a discount with diploma.. something...

Anyway, I was thinking that I should use a special spread to go along with the theme. Normally I can pop out spreads as needed with little hesitation, but I'm stuck on this one! Any suggestions?

Ooh, good idea! I could see a graduation spread taking two paths: a career/work path and a personal path. I'll have to think on the number of cards and their relative positions though.

I like the idea of two paths, both simultaneously happening.

I think the positions should be of information that will last a lifetime, rather than just a future outlook which would be over in a month or two. It could be life work to do, what to work for, or advice that will be helpful for a lifetime--any would be helpful.

Hi!
I just graduated from high school (well officially yesterday)! I now am planning on taking the year off to figure out what career/University I'm going to pursue. I really have no idea of what I want and was wondering if anybody knows of a spread that may help!!

Hi AHNO

I'd do a strengths/weaknesses spread spread based on your likes, dislikes, hobbies etc.

These look promising as well:

Once you've narrowed it down to a few job choices or a few majors you could do this spread:

Just copy and paste, links may not work due to forum problems at the moment.

OK, back on topic of this thread. I've put my thinker's cap on for a graduation spread and here's the result.

Graduation Spread (by Astraea Aurora)

...........\28\...\25*\.....26*...../27*/../29/..................
.......................\5\......4......../6/............................
.........30................................................31...........
........................\2\......1....../3/.............................
...\8\...7.../9/......\14\...13.../15/......\20\...19.../21/...
...\11\.10./12/......\17\..16../18/........\23\...22../24/...

1-3 Where you are standing now.

4-6 What was in your past. How you have come to your present position.

7-24 What will most likely be in your future.

- 7-9 In your personal life in the short term (6 months).
- 10-12 In your career / work life or study life (university) in the short term (6 months).

- 13-15 In your personal life in midterm (1 year).
- 16-18 In your career / work life or study life (university) in midterm (1 year).

- 19-21 In your personal life in the long term (5 years).
- 22-24 In your career / work life or study life (university) in the long term (5 years).

25-29 What’s your life long lessons. (I'd use the querent's Birth cards here; #25*-27*) and I'd add two more cards; #28-29.)

30 Your gift from the universe in the long term (5 years).

31 Your challenge from the universe in the long term (5 years).

I'd use the whole deck for this spread, but a separate Majors only deck for the Birth cards (#25 to 27, indicated by *) which can be one card till three cards at the most (depending on your results) and a second separate Majors only deck for #30 and #31.

ETA: The pairs of three cards can be interpreted as each one likes. Some read them as pairs, some read the middle card as the focus card and the two flanking cards as influences or additional factors. Use whatever way you prefer.

OK, please tell me what you think cause I think the topic is a good one. Any suggestions? Too broad? Too narrow? Is the time frame ok? I know 5 years is a lot of ground to cover but I second rainwolf. This spread should give a fairly broad time frame imho.
