Herbal Tarot - Ace of Swords - Chamomile

You can see the minor arcana cards in Constellation 1.

Description: A hand is holding a large sword that has a crown at the point of the sword. The hand is emerging from the clouds. There is a large sprig of chamomile floating in front of the sword. There are mountains shown at the bottom of this card.

Significant Details: The sword symbolizes willpower and protection. The crown symbolizes ego-ish desires. The mountains represent the gateways to the spirit realm. Chamomile represents clear thinking.

Keywords: Insight, Fresh ideas, Clarity, Mental agility, Directness, Forthrightness

Medicinal Uses: Chamomile is used for migraines and headaches, as well as regulating women’s menstrual cycles. Chamomile lowers nervous tension. It is also used to relieve toothache, earache, and neuralgia. Culpeper’s Color Herbal. Chamomile is antispasmodic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. It is helpful for upset stomach, heartburn, and for inducing sleep. It eases tension, and is safe for children. American Nature Guides Herbs by Anna Kruger.

My Interpretation: This may be a time of making new goals, of fresh ideas, and greater mental agility for you. You will be able to think clearer during this time, possibly even gaining insight into situations around you. This may be a time of being more direct or forthright. Don’t allow your ego-ish desires to interfere in your thoughts during this time.

Number Significance: 1 - The Self, Ego, Will, Singularity of purpose. The Aces are in Constellation 1 with I Magician, X Medicine Wheel, XIX Sun, and the Tens. 1 – Communication; Self consciousness; Individualization; Self-expression; Initiative; At-one-ment; Originality.

Thoughts/Points to Ponder: The Ace of Swords is ruled by Pure Air. Chamomile is ruled by the Sun.
