Herbal Tarot - Two of Swords - Passionflower

Soaring Eagle

You can see the minor arcana cards in Constellation 2

Description: There is a solar eclipse shown in the background. A woman is blindfolded while crossing her arms holding two swords. A large passionflower plant is growing with one large bloom and a large fruit. Behind the woman is a large body of water with rocks on both sides.

Significant Details: The eclipse and blindfold symbolize being blinded by situations, not seeing everything. The water signifies life forces. The rocks symbolize stability. The swords represent strength of will. The passionflower plant symbolizes the need to remain calm.

Keywords: Balance, Objectivity, Impartiality, Arbitration, Blindness, Stalemate

Medicinal Uses: Passionflower has sedative properties and has been used for insomnia, hysteria, seizures and nervous exhaustion since the late 19th century. It was also smoked as an aphrodisiac. Today it is used for recurrent insomnia, anxiety and tension. It is not addictive. “The fruit of this species, known as granadilla, is edible and is a popular ingredient of fruit juices.” American Nature Guides Herbs by Anna Kruger.

My Interpretation: This may be a time where you need to find your balance and objectivity. You may feel that you have reached a stalemate in a situation, remain calm and you will be able to see what is really going on. You may not be seeing the situation as it truly is.
