What is this alphabet?

Ross G Caldwell

This page sells it in gold and silver (not real of course) versions -

The descripton of its purpose is also different. At this point I'll bet it is from Abbé Julio - since that's how I am finding them -, and its purpose is protection and healing.

"Médaille Sceau de salomon

Très puissant talisman de protection, contre les maladies, les influences nocives, les ennemis cachés, les envoûtements, les malédictions... "

Edited to add -

The abbé Julio used this alphabet a lot in his pantacles, as you can see from the six pages on the same site above -
http://www.dixdecoeur.com/pages/vente/acc-pentaclesjulio.htm

The "Dragon" is also his, apparently - see page 5 of the link.

I told you grimoires - and books about grimoires! - plagiarize. It is a difficult study to sort everything out. Easier with the internet, but still difficult.

alphabet?

Hi, a few of the symbols do resemble rune markings however, the markings on the pentagram side a few look like the theban alphabet or wiccan alphabet. Try googling the theban alphabet. Hope it helps! Blessed be! Nyx

Great research Ross, thanks a lot!
Yes, it really is a very difficult study. That I'm not so good at.

I found a very complete biography of Abbé Julio.

Thank you for this information FC. What a coincidence, I too have been ordained in the lineage of J.-R. Vilatte. There is really a spiritual tradition, or current, in his lineage, that binds like spirits together.

I have no doubt this is partly what led me to be able to find the source of your pantacle.

That's amazing Ross! There's no such thing as coincidences. Only synchronicity.

I've order "Grands Secrets Merveilleux" by Abbé Julio. Maybe I find some answers there.

Is that 'alphabet' what would be known as a 'magical cypher'?

the thumbs are small, but I referred to a alphabet table from one of the grimoirs i have and all those writings look like the hebrew from that table..

I just figured out how to read the table as well, as it was confusing me for a while since theres no english translation for the characters and translating hebrew to english is difficult, if not directly impossible.

The symbols in the amulets are neither Hebrew nor Greek. The table provided seems to show it not being much more than a simple cipher from the English version of the Latin alphabet. Even the Theban alphabet someone mentioned is not much more than a most simple cipher for the Renaissance Latin alphabet... In other words, the regular alphabet with different shapes, with no changes whatsoever in mode of writing, phonetics, etc.
