Tarot artist Giacinto Gaudenzi

KristinCali

Does anybody know anything about this artist, Giacinto Gaudenzi? I have searched and can't come up with anything. I'm curious because I didn't even realize that I had 3 of his 4 decks! I am SO attracted to his style. Almost obsessed! I can't think of the right words to describe it. Raw? Intense? Does anybody have any of these decks? Can anybody relate?

I have the Decameron which is RATHER adult! Not for reading for your grandmother! In fact, a couple of the original images had to be changed so as not to be banned by obscenity laws to be allowed into the country!

The original Sun card violated child pornography laws, and the Justice card (L) was decidedly too graphic (or Lorena Bobbit was too fresh in people's minds) ...

@tarotbear Wow! Thank you for sharing those images! Interesting to see what might have been. I'm rather fond of both those cards haha. I initially bought Decameron as an attempt to get my boyfriend interested in tarot, LOL. And even though I've never read with the deck (yet) I am still fond of it's bawdy, humorous, raw sexuality. I'm a very sexually open person so this deck is just dandy with me, although I can see how it's shocking to others.

The Decameron is all I have, too. (I have a similar Tarot-artist-crush on Luigi Scapini, and vast numbers of his decks, so I know where the OP is coming from).

I'd be perfectly happy to read for my grandmother with it, though - looking at all the evidence, I'd say there's a good chance she might actually have had sex at some stage. :)

For me it is Andrea Serio, the man that painted Dante Tarot (Lo Scarabeo as well).
