Steele Wizard Tarot

LadyDeborah

I ordered this deck and its interesting. I wasn't aware of the unusual cardstock when I bought it, but that's ok. Now, I see several complaints about peeling and similar issues, but my deck came with defects from the start. The Hermit card is full of surface type creases where the laminate or plastic layer is a mess. Has anyone been able to request card replacements from Pamela? There is another that is also creased, but The Hermit is the worst. :( I would just like to have the complete deck undamaged.

I don't think there is any harm in asking Pamela, tell her which cards are damaged and ask if it would be possible to get replacements for these cards.

Pamela now does 2 versions of this deck, a glossy version and a matte version because some people just don't like the large glossy cards :)

Pamela is a very lovely lady; i am sure she will replace the damaged cards. Just pop her an email and explain...[Oh and yes, she replaced a couple of the first edition glossy cards for me a few years ago]...:)

ETA:This is the deck you have that have the damaged cards, correct?:

As Rodney mentioned in his email after this one, be sure that you explain which edition your damaged cards are from.

i have both editions; The newer more matte one is my favorite, but i really very much like the book that came with the first edition in the brown lidded box; so i am quite happy to have both editions.

Yes, be very clear which version you have as the two versions are also different sizes, and getting replacements of the wrong size won't do you any good either.

It is the first edition with the glossy finish. That's what the problem is because the shiny "coating" or layer has been creased on several cards resulting in wrinkles on the surface. I will be sure and specify which deck I have and contact Pamela then. Thank you to everyone. You're right, it can't hurt to ask.

MoonGypsy, yes, this is the deck I have. Is the matte finish still available to buy? I didn't know there was a second version. I do love the book that came with it, too!

Yes, LadyD, the slightly smaller matte edition is available to buy. i have had mine since it first came out, and i love it.

You can buy it here:

You will notice it is a bit smaller and also has different backs. :) The coloring of the whole deck is more vibrant, also!

Thanks, MoonGypsy. If you ordered the second deck, you must really like this set. Maybe I'll order the matte version and ask Pamela about my damaged cards at that time. It looks like we have very similar taste. We keep running into each other here a lot! LOL
