Inspiration please!

Shadowlynx

Hi everyone,

I am currently seeking input and/or inspiration for my next oracle card deck. I've recently did a Viking themed Lenormand, but for my next artistic project, I wish it to be an oracle deck that doesn't revolve around any conventional systems (such as tarot, Lenormand or runes). I've thought about a Dragon oracle or an Animal Spirit Guides one, but I don't know... They seemed a bit cliché and overdone. I'm leaning towards either a Cat one (I am a crazy cat-momma. LOL! :D) or an Australian wildlife one. Do you guys have any suggestions, ideas or preferences? Lemme know... I'm always keen on giving the public what it wants. Cheers! :)

1) I'm not sure what needs to happen with legalities but if it's possible, I'd be all over a Discworld deck. (I guess I could throw in Marvel, DC, Firefly, etc. into this too)

2) A deck in which each card is based on a decade or era. For example, a 60's message would be about focusing on love not war, or a 1930's message would be about restraint and resourcefulness.

3) Proverbs, or lessons from around the world.

4) Fairytales, the adult version. Ex. Cinderella's stepsisters cut off parts of their feet in an attempt to make the glass/fur slipper fit. Message: Don't get too caught up in your goal that you lose parts of yourself.

Thanks heaps, Snowhunter! These suggestion are awesome! I really like the second one (the decade or era one). I'm gonna need to do some research if I go with that idea, but I'm up for it... I love digging up info! :)
