Playing Card Kickstarter campaigns

kalliope

Since some of us like to read with playing cards here, I thought it might be nice to have one thread where we could post upcoming Kickstarter campaigns for interesting or beautiful playing cards decks. :spade: :diamond: :club:

Here are a couple I found the other day:

Bicycle Viola Playing Cards by Collectible Playing Cards - standard courts are largely purple & gold, w/ regular black & red suits, violet card back design
- ends May 23 2015

The Four Seasons by Ace Collectable Cards - each suit is a season, different color, slightly fae courts, very pretty.
- ends May 7, 2015 (goal already met)

NOUVEAU Playing Cards by Bona Fide Playing Cards - art nouveau style w/ two color options, inspired by 16th century Rouen designs, courts modeled on historical & mythological figures
- ends April 30, 2015

BRuT Tarot Deck by Uusi (w/ poker deck option) - modernist gaming tarot/tarock deck, w/ french playing card suits, incredible bold & modern art & earthy colors; one can choose to get a regular 52-card poker deck w/out the trumps so I'm including it here

The Viola keeps playing my song...:p

i will probably be backing that one...The color is hard for me to resist...

Four Seasons has my attention!

I don't really read with playing cards, but I do play a lot of card games, and I have a few decks I play with only because they are character decks from shows or other IPs I like. Such as Harry Potter and my Animal Crossing deck I got from Club Nintendo as a reward. I don't play with generic decks very often. So these look great! Definitely adding some to my kickstarter watch list!

Whenever I have the urge to play spider or pyramid or klondike I'd love cards that are as beautiful to look at as they are fun to play with. Which is probably why I substitute tarot cards for playing cards very often. X)

I like that BRut tarot deck! The Fireworks cards also.

I got a "Tattoo" Bicycle deck from Wal-Mart not long ago and I love the Queen of Spades -- it's a skeletal female wearing a bridal veil, holding flowers, and crying bloody tears.

I like so many of them! I've backed the BRuT deck, and will be getting one tarot, and one poker deck.

The Viola is such a fun color. The Nouveau, especially in teal, is pretty. The Artistic Spring feels fresh and crisp and modern. The Fireworks makes me chuckle and seems like it would be fun for games, too. I like the inventiveness of the Four Seasons and the redrawn suit symbols. And I like something about the colors of the Tsarovka from the Black Market campaign.

I can't back all of them, so I have to decide somehow which are most suited to me. *sigh*

Morwenna

Oh, I like the Nouveau too, both editions! But I wonder if that one will make it...

Madrigal

I'm rather partial to the Nouveau Teal and the Brut. I love Uusi's work and am awaiting their Pagan deck. I'll have to decide between one of these as I can't back both. Hmm...
