Chariot

...I wanna introduce the next card, the CHARIOT:

This is one of the cards, where I think about another version or changes.
What you see is a wheel. In its hub I painted fire and the "Shivalingam", the tantric symbol for sexual union, taken from RW-cards. Sexual energy surely is a force that awakes in the young person at this time. The colour between the spokes is purple, what stands for the spirituality of childhood, where he (or she, how you want) comes from. The young person crosses the water, the border between childhood and the world of getting adult. The wand in his left hand also represents his fire-energy. One rein is white, one is black. This shows the two directions of motivation, and the task is to find the right way between them. The green area is the real world, where the chariot gets to now. He will make his own experiences there. What we already can see is the third area of life and development, where he (ore she), after school of life, willl get back to to a spiritual existence, but on a higher level.
Some people told me, it looks, as if the person sinks into ore comes out of water. This is not the contenent I want to show. The other thing, where I think of a change is maybe to colour the star in the third area with purple and the heaven around it with yellow, to make the atmosphere of the card more active, wich fits to the chariot better, I think.

Justice

I hope, I still have your interest for the explanations.

Here is JUSTICE:

I chose the red-orange colour for the background, because justice is almost necessary in emotional situations, where we say stop and look on the thing with all our abilities of perception. So we have both hands at the scale, and we ask our intuition, left side, and also our mind, right side. Together we can find the decision. The eye-bandage (right word?) and the two bowls are spiritual (purple) tools. But we need our mind (blue) to enter this process and to come to a decision (sword). The fruits and the corn tell us, that justice is a way of ripeness.

Hermit

I want to explain my HERMIT to you.

We have a nightly atmosphere on this card. The lights are a star, the moon (a part is hidden) and the light in the house. Also the way, that winds to the left (intuitive side) like a spiral, gets a little shine, for to find him better. It is the way to the middle, to our inside. The five ends of the star show the searching for sense. The herimit retired himself from the stired (stiring?) water (feelings) in the background. The two fishes stand for the sensitive feelings of the herimit. The spirals on the trees, wich also are a protection and a symbol for slow growing, have spirals, that wind to the left and also to the right. The same with the window. This spiral turnes left, when you look from in to out, the other way from out to in. The main direction for the way to the middle may be the left way, I guess, but the right way will allso have his roll here.

Wheel of life

Sometimes this card is called "wheel of fortune", I think. I want to name it WHEEL OF LIFE.

In this card you can imagine the ups and downs of life. The wheel turnes and we moove through the different elements and the light and the dark area and try, to get them in harmony. The four elements are symbolized with the typical Symbols of Tarot, coins, wands, swords and cups and with my symbols house and trees, fire, clouds and butterflies and water with fishes. The wheel in the middle contains the signs of the zodiac and the numbers of a clock, wich go backward, to show that the time is a relative thing.

Strength

Explaining my STRENGTH:

In this card I used totaly different symbolics as on the RW. You can see two nearly separated areas. The area below represents subconscious, the feeelings (water and fishes) and the fire, also shown by the wand, that want to break through. This all is important, but we must canalize this ore we get crazy. So we do that with our consciousness, with the elemet earth and air (thougts and mind). Maybe you can feel, how the wall (a spiritual one), the sword and the calm of the scene keep the overwhelming feelings on a good level.

Hi Langustl,

first of all, let me tell you how much I love your artwork!

I had come across it in a German Tarot forum, and was happy to see you join Aeclectic.

Strength was one of the few cards that didn't speak to me right away when I looked at the image. Your explanation made it perfectly clear now. I like the concept of integrating all the elements and bring everything together - I think this expands the meaning of Strength in a wonderful way.

Best wishes
