Mary El Tarot - The Threes

JadoreHauteCouture

We are continuing from the Twos

3 of wands presents achieved balance.... Perfect unity... Balance of elements (upright and reversed triangles at snakes tail) - fusion of water and fire, masculine and feminine energy, light and darkness, good and bad...
You also see 2 hands, one with upright triangle (male energy, man), second one with reversed (female).. the obviously belong to one person which means this person is both of a man and woman, of a father and of a mother = it is their child... a product of their love and passion. A child is when 2 become 3 (therefore 3 of wands). It is about achieving the balance and finding the ultimate light and now giving it to the next generation. Red color suggests anything passionate - wild sex, insticts, being animalistic, boiling blood, sacrifice (of parents for kids) and so on... When the light in us becomes bigger than us and we have to protect it.. And fortune blesses us

3 of swords continues.. we see a bird trying to bring the swords up.. Couple things... 1. in Ace of swords, Prometheus steals the fire and is chained to the rock for his knowledge of Gods and has to suffer (just like we have to, the deeper we go into secrets of life, the bumpier the road). In Two of swords, we know about this light inside of us and this time, were not stealing it, we are working hard for it. Because Prometheus stole the fire, because Adam and Eve ate the apple. in 3 of swords, it is us. little birds trying to carry as much as we can... obviously bird has only 2 legs, but he even takes the 3 sword!!! it is too heavy but it doesnt stop him...
2. why is he even bothering? he could let the swords go? WHY the bird carries heavy swords when he no longer HAS to? he is no longer chained like Prometheus. It is because he WANTS to! and this is the difference of 3 of swords... In 3 of swords, we again wanna touch the sky, touch the Gods, ultimate knowledge, find the purpose of our lives, but this time we understand we cannot steal it, we earn it slowly but learning from these swords, from these experiences... We take our past, our baggage and past pain and we understand all this suffering and pain was here to make us stronger, not to bring us down... And we learn from it and go up...
3. Sky is cloudy... We try... sometimes its easier, sometimes not.. but we should not give up....
And this is how it connects to 3 of wands... We produce children to pass the light onto next generation, we raise and just we had to carry our baggage, we slowly introduce our kids to it... in the beginning we make it easy for them, protecting them from this world, but sooner or later, everyone will have to carry their baggage to find the reason of their life... And we tell them by words/preaching/teaching (swords)... words are the biggest gift of nowaday humanity, enableing people to pass culture upon future generations...

3 of cups reminds me of holy trinity - God, Jesus and Holy Spirit - pouring onto us washing away our sins... Passing the morality and spirituality onto next generations - the only thing setting us apart from animals... And we learn morals and spirituality through love (yes, love = CUPS, get it? amazing, isnt it?)... loving others as ourselves = morality, loving God/Gods for creating us = spirituality... ultimate love - the gate in 2 of wands...
and as the book says, from these nourishing rivers the tree grows... and only towards skies, never grows down = every generation evolves and is better and better, more enlightened.... Parents have to fall and sacrifice themselves (waterfalls) so that the kids have everything and grow strong (tree)....

3 of disks in the book talks about crafting and mastership and how it takes long time... Which again connects to this story... People work hard through life until they master their skills and pass them onto their kids, just like in the picture... end of the cycle, yet a new beginning of another cycle that goes back to 3 of wands... circle of live, ourobolos... question for me: why is family Asian... does it have anything to do with their culture? their love for nature and living in harmony and balance with everything? Or is it that in China you can only have one child... then u have to pay extra... does this have a message about life?
