Making your own Superhero Tarot Cards

If you were going to create a tarot deck of superheroes, who would you put on each card?

Dr. Strange seems obvious for Magician, he is the Supreme Sorceror after all.

Maybe Superman and Lois Lane or Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman for Lovers, they're the first superhero couples that come to my mind.

Now, where should we go from here? And be sure to give your reasons, since I am sure people will have different opinions, it will be interesting to compare.

(And let's stick with Marvel and DC, since they're the most well known, ok?)

The Lovers:

Spiderman (Peter Parker) + Mary Jane Wattson and Felicia Harding (Black Cat)

The Wheel:

Gambit from the X-men

The Devil

Was thinking on Spawn... because his chains remind me of the Devil.. and in a way Spawn is a bound by his own life...

Those were the few that popped into my head.

The King of Cups: Aquaman

The Queen of Wands: Wonder Woman (especially with her invisible airplane and her lasso of truth)

Yoyu could almost have a deck for each character.

The death and return of superman woudl make for an effective theame.

Death: Doomsday of course

The four pages woudl be the four imposters
The emporer and the Devil would both be Lex Luthor.
The king and Queen of one of the suites would be Jonathan and Martha Kent

Certain Events would make up most of the deck.

Well,

Dr. Strange would make for a good Magician
Then we have our cosmic entities of the Marvel universe:
Liviing Tribunial:Justice
Silver Surfer:Judgment (maybe)
Devil: Onslaught (the damaged psyche of Magneto and Xavier with insane psychic powers)
King of Pentalcles may as well be J. Johna Jameson

and once again, we need to associate with certain events throughout whatever the deck assoicates with (there is too much story for any one deck.)

Have you seen the Fradella, it's an all superhero deck... there's also an itlain deck of marvel super heroes.

Ok in no particular order

Lovers: Batman and Catwoman

Star: Phoenix (Jean Gray)

Moon: Vampirella

Magician: Timothy Hunter (he as the magician in the Vertigo deck) or John Constantine (the fool on the vertigo deck).

High Priestess: Maybe Zatanna

Emperor: Superman?

Just thought I'd throw this in: Lo Scarabeo did a majors only deck on unlaminated cardstock with marvel characters.

I've been thinking about this, and have come up with some more ideas.


Sun: Dagger
Moon: Cloak
Strength: Hulk or Thing
Justice: Punisher (he has his own view on justice.)
Hanged Man: Spider-Man (he certainly hangs upside down alot )
Devil: Daredevil (who else? )

Devil: Magneto
Hermit: Professor Xavier

Sun: The Torch from Fantastic Four, has a twin aspect also.
Star: is that Dazzler in the loScarabeo deck?

Tower: a tower from one of the Barry Windsor Smith Conan comics.

Yes, Dazzler is the Star in the Tarocchi Marvel. I was thinking of the Silver Surfer for the Hermit, but I checked, and he IS the Hermit in the Marvel deck.
