A Door: Behold!


As has been told, so we shall do,
for here is our sacred home,
and the means to proceed forward.
A door may both bar and beckon:
Behold!
Thus united and secured
we may defend or advance.

We are kept well ~ and loved,
with special care made to flourish.
Let us strive now to take hold,
for we are in her hands~
she raises us up and instructs us.

Let us swell like the gathering rivers,
for upon us depends this inheritance.
We are lifted up on its foundations,
and may see, flowing all around us,
the great source ~ the breath of life.

Now from here, the command is to go forth:
even so ~ through the narrowest of ways,
and upward thus to the foremost summit.
Rejoice!
For the way has been shown.

Translated - a beginning (?):

  • Abracadabra! [ I ]
    Beyth is indeed a house, a sacred home well kept [II]
    G - a camel by which to travel - back towards one's celestial origins (?) [III]
    D, that Royal Edict which may beckon and limit [IIII]
    H - indeed, behold the sacred! [V]
    V, which both unites in bonds of love and security [VI]
    Z to advance in the Chariot and defend by fencing [VII]

Beautiful, Fulgour and jmd. After this reading, I will never forget the initiatory (and not exactly magical) word Abracadabra when in presence of Le Bateleur. Fulgour, this was also about Tarot, wasn’t it?

Just as Phoenician and Hebrew are forever linked,
the underlying structure of the Tarot is also evident
in these alphabets, and their root letter meanings.
But this is more an interpretive celebration of my

All your poems are so beuatiful I'm almost ashamed to admit that I only know a little childeren's song they teach in kingergartens here in Israel, which I doubt has anything to do with the Kabbalah.

Fulgour, I find a 'translation' of poetry takes more away than the poet penned...

I was rather motivated to post in order to help some to see more easily a key to begin reflections which may unveil the innards of the poem.

I called it a 'beginning' not because I stopped at Vav, but rather that each line I wrote is but a beginning...

The stirrings of the inspiration began some time ago,
as I sensed an underlying message to the alphabet.
It felt as though, more than mere sounds and signposts
there was a vision being presented of our creation
and social responsibility. The meaning of our existence.

The origins of the human soul are within the holiness
of all things, beyond our comprehension, but very real.

Oh my, thank you Fulgour! and, jmd, for helping me to understand. The last part is marvelous. I am printing this out to keep for reflection. It works for me.

We just had a discussion in the Let's Marseille Pt. 4 thread about reading with "correspondences" and "studies." It's threads like this that help we who are "beginning," to internalize the progression.
