What Question would you ask Miss Pamela?

I wish I could ask Miss Pamela

About her feelings in the 1920's til her death, about the changes in perspective she had and why. I have read how she kind of did a turnabout, but it would be great to hear from her, her thoughts, how she felt she evolved or transformed.

I would also love to hear her describe her childhood and early adulthood. I've read things, but it's not the same as having tell you their story.

I would love to hear Pamela tell us one of her Jamaican stories - in the flesh would be so much better than the written word ....

oh THAT would be fabulous, TarotBear!

I have always wondered what her life was like while in Jamaica. What her childhood was like? What she was exposed to, as in where there ANY occult influences at all. Not that there would need to be for her to hang out with some of the Golden Dawn members. But how wondrous to be able to hear her tell her tales.

I would like to see a' deck' made by selecting extant other artworks of her's that seem to fit the individual card themes.

There is 'Pixie's Lenormand' which utilizes artwork gleaned from various Pamela sources ....

Oooooo ! Thanks (gonna check that one out ! )

Hmmm , seems a similar quality to the RW tarot illustrations. And some seem like collages; a Sun trump sun image with a typical 'castle background' and the 3 of cups in the foreground.

Yes, they are collages using Pixie's figures from a variety of sources. Lenormand focuses on simple images that are used emblematically instead of symbolically. There are in just the past 3-4 years now, over a hundred new Lenormand decks, most self-published and most collaged from all kinds of sources.

The problem with using Pixie's art to create a new deck (of any kind) is that it's hard to get the unified style and relative size characteristics that she was so good at as a result of her illustrator training.

ravenest

yes, now that you mention it, that 'relative size' thing was the first 'collage hint' I noticed, even before the obvious mixed images.

What I would like is using her pictures already done from other sources, without changing them, that seem to relate to a card

eg;

etc. (but sizing problems again )

(or however one relates them )
