Your new place for all things Thoth

Samweiss

But seriously, I loved moderating at AT, but all good things, etc. I see that all the forums have added Thoth sections, which is wonderful. Thank you to all the new forum owners who have so kindly thought of us. Although the consensus seems to be that it would be better if as many people as possible decamped to a single forum, we aren't a unit and we have no leader and no decision is ever final. You know, True Will and all that. ;)

So I propose a poll. I'll do a little homework after I've had my coffee and I'll look into which forums have offered to help, and which forums already have sections, and then I'll post the links in a poll and we'll be able to see where the trend is going, and sign up knowing that wherever we go, we'll have friends.

Failing that, if no clear preference surfaces, I'll draw a card for each forum and decide things the old fashioned way. :D

Poll sounds a great idea.

advice for the new forum owners

This is advice for the new forum owners. It would be good idea to have separate forums for

1. General Tarot, Collectors, Buy & Sell, Design, New Tarots Publication, Tarot Study Books and Readings Exchange Forum
2. 3x Main Tarot (RWS TdM and Thoth) with Kabbala, Magical Societies (GD, OTO etc) Traditions, Astrology in one forum
3. Oracles, Lenormand, Divination and Spirituality Forum

I believe that people who are into one of these fields wouldn't frequent other forums, so there is little point to have all these topics in one forum.

Having all these fields in one giant forums would be OK in the beginning, but as number of members and posts grow, it will soon slow down, keep crashing, and become nightmare to maintain, back-up and upgrade, which will cost mega box, time and effort, hence will have to keep invest more and more on it, or shutdown.

It is also good for members to be able to go to the forum they are interested, and can relate to without having to be bogged down by convoluted menu system.

Having separate forums into those customised fields will also make the forum run faster and more reliable.
If not into the idea of running multiple forums, then just have a forum customised and specialised from above, and concentrate on it, rather than trying to have them all in one forum overloading menu system, members list and posts in one database. It won't work in the long run.

This is just 2 cents from my 10 years of ex- IT / Programming working career experience.

A thelemic-consensus, how novel

A great idea I think Zeph! Or just meet up in Aeon's loungeroom ;)

Why didn't we all think of that? :D

I've just done it, and man, if the Thoth didn't lay the smack down on my drama-llamas and worries. What a reassuring dose of reality.

Fake news!

And then we can all dispute the result, start spreading stories about "foreign hackers", and declare the poll null and void.

Agree!
I think having a single "tarot" section is really setting a forum up for failure.

So good to see this face in the midst of change!!!

By far the hardest thing for me to let go of is the Book of Law Study. I am glad I have the chance again to point out how amazing it was, not only that you had the nerve to start it, but that you steered us clear through to the end. I honestly didn't think it would be possible and I have my doubts it could happen twice.

It really did change my life and I want to thank you once again.
I am going to pm you my email in case I can ever do anything for you.

I haven't decided where to go yet. But I'm sure I won't be going to Cartomancy.

I hear you. I won't go where I'm not wanted either. Just stubborn that way.

absdefgnghtyidenryikhemfgjklw xxxxxxxxxxxx - your password is 'STRONG"
.....

not processed .

I give up !

I was thinking, Ravenest, that the issues I've seen people have signing up on certain forums have come down to email addresses. Perhaps if you have a second one you could try that. I understand that hotmail and even gmail are giving people problems.
