The imagry of the light helps me understand how the 10 Sefirot are actually simply "one".

The word "sof" means "one" & "sefirot" means "ones" (plural). The same idea applies numerologically when you reduce a "10" to a "1".

I mentioned this in another Kabbala thread, but perhaps bears mentioning again, that I prefer to allow Kether to represent the entire suit instead of a "one" & use the term Da'at the third level of the Tree of Life. This way, Chokmah becomes the first and Binah becomes the second (NB: the "bi-" prefix).

Keter - crown,
Chochmah - wisdom,
Binah - understanding,
Chessed - kindness,
Gevura - strength,
Tiferet - beauty,
Netzach - victory,
Hod - awe,
Yesod - foundation,
Malchut - monarchy.
Sometimes the Sefirot are listed without Keter, and then Da'at -wisdom, is included between Bina and Chesed.
