Dream Enchantress. XVI The Tower

An enormously-huge (think of that giant statue of Jesus in Brazil!) statue of an angel sits atop a jutting cliff overlooking a town. A bolt of lightning has struck the statue and broken it in half. We know it will soon tumble down the cliff and onto the town. The one detail that strikes me about this card is that the angel itself has an eerie look of terror on its face (I wish I had a scanner to show you what I mean!). I see a bit of irony in this card--a huge monument that was built to honor God is now being struck down by the figurative hand of God. This card can speak to man's hubris and our desire to build things bigger and bigger. Was the statue built to exalt God, or us?
