Psychomachiae and Tarot?

The Psychomachiae come up as a source of Tarot inspiration and imagery. My limited delving here makes me think this more a stylistic influence and source of allegorical figures than anything deeper, combined with the ideas of allegorical figures triumphing over each other. Can anyone shed any further light on this?

It had been of value for the development of the virtue-vices-system generally and a system of this kind reappeared partly later inside the Tarot motifs, that's all.
