The wren is one of the smallest birds, darting about rapidly when in the open but mainly keeping under cover and maintaining a low profile. The one on the card has hidden its nest within the ivy growing over an oak tree and is looking out at a distant thunderstorm across an expanse of water, holding a feather in its beak.
This suggests to me quickness of thought, inspiration, but possibly also keeping one's insights to oneself and allowing them to develop out of public view. The bird looks as if it might actually be offering this feather to the lightning or perhaps the lightning's source - maybe it's expressing gratitude that the storm has passed its nest by, perhaps thanks for the insights given to it by something more powerful, or even that the powers of fate have provided it with a safe home or niche in life.
