3-card New Year spread

Hi all,
I am looking for a good 3-card spread idea to answer the question what the new year will bring to someone.
I am not too creative today, it seems, and did not find something to satisfy me yet.

My ideas so far:

challenge - resource - outcome
physical - intellectual - emotional
what you want - what you need - what you get
basic challenge - don´t do - do do
positive - negative - what you need to learn
to laugh - to weep - to learn

Any better suggestions?

Hi Marchal,

I found this spread to be very apt as a new year spread. Even if you don't want to do the full spread, using only the first three card (N - E - W) works very well. I have tried it a couple of times and so far it's the best I have come across.

Hmmm, I sense it's not quite what you were asking for, but maybe you still like it .

for the moment I decided to use this spread (I have to do a New Year spread for an 3-card email reading - the question is about what the new year will bring):

1. what you have to learn and know in 2009
2. don´t do in 2009
3. do do in 2009
Add-on. your year card (based on querent´s birthday), representing the energy and the main lesson of the year

Or should I focus more on positive - challenge - path ?

what will I have to focus on? is my personal question for the next year

2) money
3) health
