I recommend "Astrology, Karma and Transformation" by Stephen Arroyo...I would put it in category of beginning-intermediate. I really like his work and he has some really helpful insights about Pluto and Saturn transits.

I like Stephen Arroyo too, and I have this book. It is excellent, especially if you are interested in Karma. I'd tend to put it in the Intermediate rather than beginner category - read his Chart Interpretation Handbook first and possibly his Astrology, Psychology and the Four Elements - but he is one of the best.

I'll second Arroyo's books. His chart interpretation book gives you a very good foundation from which to build upon. I've also taken a look at his others....
