Herbal Tarot - XX-Judgment-Goldenseal

You can see the major arcana cards in Constellation 2.

Description: A woman is supporting a large goldenseal plant that is uprooted. There is a small tombstone on the other side of the woman. Mountains are seen in the background and there is a large mass of water between the mountains and the woman. In the sky are some fluffy clouds and an angelís horn.

Significant Details: The tombstone signifies death. The horn symbolizes the final judgment. The mountains represent the gateways to the spirit realm. The water signifies life forces. The goldenseal signifies the curing of the soul.

Keywords: Awakening, rebirth, liberation, absolution

Medicinal Uses: Native Americans used goldenseal as dye and as a medicinal plant. It was used to heal wounds, rashes, watering eyes, and mouth ulcers. American settlers considered it a cure-all and it became known as poor manís ginseng. Avoid during pregnancy, as it causes the uterus to contract. American Nature Guides Herbs by Anna Kruger.

My Interpretation: This is a time of awakening and rebirth. You may feel more liberated during this time. There may be struggles during this time, and you will have to make a decision on which path to take to reach your goal. This may be a time of making adjustments for you.

Number Significance: Judgment is in Constellation 2 with II High Priest, XI Justice, and the Twos. 2 - Intuition. Self-sufficiency. Self-trust. Independence. Duality. Self and Other. Choice. Analysis. Struggle. Division. Reflection. Counterpoise or Contraposition. Equilibrium. Adjustment.

Thoughts/Points to Ponder: The woman is carefully balancing the goldenseal plant so that the flower does not fall from the leaves. We should also try to balance our lives so that our "flowers" do not fall and leave us feeling empty.
