Farschian: 7. To Live

...and here‘s our ‘lovers’ card.

the young man looks down upon the semi-reclined woman. he is clutching a bouquet of flowers, preparing to court her.

at her knee, a tiger, suggests masculine power… is it an accident that the tiger is almost in her lap?

whispering in her ear, is the gentle deer, perhaps symbolizing femininity.

note the two phoenix, perhaps representing the immortality of love.

to love is to truly live.

the title of this painting is ‘to live‘. so...maybe this card has interpretations other than the romantic.

‘to live’ suggests taking action: action that is balanced, by being both assertive and receptive.

gentle persuasion may be just as effective as force.
