Tarot of Ceremonial Magick Amazon Question

foolMoon

Does anyone know if this is - or ever was- a book and cards set or just the book? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/08772876...ails?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1428405082&sr=8-1
I emailed a few sellers, some say it's on the data base as cards+book but they can't be sure as it's in a warehouse, others say just book.

It is unpredictable buying from Amazon as far as old Tarot decks are concerned. I have a few experiences where they described as cards and books, but when they arrived, it was just a book much to my disappointment.

For this book by LMD, I have it, and it is a good book. But the cards, I looked at them closely, but a few of them was just way off from traditional symbolism. For example, the Fool card has an adroit athlete flying in the space - it does not look like traditional fool clumsy and carefree just starting out. The athlete must have practiced a lot, and looks very skillful, confident and even professional.

Another card, I thought as off was the Hermit card, where there is a stark face staring out in the dark. He is not holding any lamp, and he does not look old, wise and sage, but rather intimidating and angry.

There are few other cards, which was too off from the traditional symbolism, but these 2 are coming into mind.

With other information such as I Ching sticks, Enochian, Goetia diagrams, Astrological signs on each cards, maybe it is a versatile deck, but if reader is not into all of these things, they tend to muddle rather than help, I felt.

Yes, US Games sold a deck/book set that came with one of their fold out Celtic Cross sheets. I own at least one copy.

I wouldn't trust a seller who didn't know what they were selling, myself !

The Amazon link you give shows only the book. The cards appear to be separate and being sold by private people/companies, but look at the price of the cards £97 !!!!!!!!

Sometimes it works out badly- but other times I've got a 'free' deck with a book too

The Amazon.com has far more realistic prices and l hope you manage to get what you want :)

Thanks :) Do you happen to have the ISBN and dimensions of that box set please?

What are the differences between that one, and this one>> (which seems easier and cheaper to get hold of?)

This is a new edition of the deck published by a small press in 2010. It is just the deck. It's still in print. (The original edition deck was published by US Games.)

The publisher was very concerned about correct coloring and quality card stock, being an esotericist himself, so it's probably a good deal. (I know him through our Capital Tarot Society.)

Looks like the book is still in print by Weiser. http://www.amazon.com/Tarot-Ceremon...39&sr=1-2&keywords=tarot+of+ceremonial+magick

And that's all I know about that . . .

The one in your link is the second "self-published" edition of the deck, by Thelesis Aura publishing and not the USGames version.
