Where do you store your tarot cards?

I keep mine in a special wood box in salt. But that smaller box is inside a larger box where I keep all my tarot items [books, decks not in use, candles]. I also keep a large piece of silk to lay my cards out on when I do readings. I guess it is a ritual for me.....

How do you others store your decks?

The decks I don't use stay in their original boxes on my shelf.

The decks I do use, I carry in a plastic 4x6 index card box, like the kind you get at Office Max. The decks are separated with dividers and I fit three decks per case. It's not pretty, but it's cheap and it works.

That said, I am considering trying out a drawstring bag to see how I like it.

It varies, depending on the deck. I've started making my own bags, so most are in those. I also bought a wooden box I want to paint as a tarot box. And when I was younger, I had various boxes and bags that I bought for them. If I'm actively using a deck, I never keep it in the original cardboard box.

I've looked at various things to keep mine in, and from a cheapie shop I got a make up bag and soap bag, in a lovely gold brocade stuff, and the make-up bag holds the oracle deck, and the soap bag holds the candles, incense sticks etc....and they look lovely as a matching set.

However, today I went into a craft shop, where a lady sat making a patchwork quilt.....and as I just so love quilts, I stayed and really browsed around. It was a good job I did, cos I found what were marked up and 'gift bags', and they were £3.99 each.

I bought a gold one, and it is really difficult to explain how they look.....but Ill try prior to posting a pic of it.

Imagine you get a square of material, and turn all four points/corners into the middle.....then sew part way up towards each point......which leaves a bag shape at the bottom part, and four 'points' at the top. Each point then has a bell sewn on it....(which is wicked for my Mystic Faerie deck)...and the four points are held together to close the bag with a gold ring.....

It's hard to discribe, and I probably lost most of you somewhere near the beginning of the post......but when I get the pics on you will see what I mean.....they are fantastic for tarot decls, and when I'm there again I'll get another one...

Most of my decks & books live in my 2 bookcases, a few decks that I use frequently live in my wooden box on my desk. my Nigel Jackson & Druidcraft live in their own wooden boxes on my desk. I also have a chest that is used as my altar which houses more books, candles. incense, etc etc,.

Heres my newest bookcase I have had such FUN arranging it today!!!

About half a dozen decks in their original boxes (or with the shards thereof, all wrapped in scarves) share a tote bag with my other divinatory materials. The rest, in their original boxes, are kept in square cardboard shipping boxes, which are just about the right height for average decks to stand in. Nothing fancy, though I've often wished I had something. I like some of the ideas here.

thank you. I had trouble finding anything on storage, and a search for the topic came up with nothing.... I will browse these forums.

I keep mine in a pink sequined bag with black satin lining inside. I was always told [by my mother] that tarot cards should be kept in a bag or something, that had satin lining to preserve and protect the "psychic" and "magical" properties and abilities of the cards.
I bought my bag sometime last year i believe. I got it at Victoria's Secret during one of their semi-annual sales, for liek 3 bucks. the size, was absoultely perfect, it was cute,and trendy, and had the perfect lining to keep my tarot cards protected and preserved. it works well when i travel, and have to do readings, so i like it.

Ive been debating on getting a box though, just as a decorative purpose, for home readings, should people come over. i dont know though, im feeling kind askeptical on the box idea. might need to look at a few more.

I have a little fake treasure box that was a gift long ago that I keep my stones in--along with my main tarot deck.
